#16 (English): Pivoting Careers and Raising Bilingual Multicultural Children with Meyling Veliz Wood
Meyling is a Chinese-Peruvian American, mother of 2, and future Veterinary Technician. Meyling was born in Lima, Peru, and move to the U.S. around the age of 7 years old. Meyling attended the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale and has professional experience in the Hospitality Industry. She is currently pivoting her career and earning her Veterinary Technician degree from Purdue University online. Meyling loves animals and has grown up with lots of them – dogs, birds, and Peruvian Paso horses.
In this episode, we discuss pivoting into a new career while raising bilingual and multicultural children, feeling like an outsider, and wanting to be a “ normal” American girl. Like many immigrant children, sometimes we struggle to figure out where we belong, we disconnect from our roots to survive, and reconnect with them to thrive.
